In general, you can use the Website without giving us any information. When you provide information through the Quote and Buy Websites, BISL or Allianz will pass us the following information about you:

What does BISL do with the information collected?
BISL uses this information to provide you with a better service and for the following reasons:
- for the purpose of insurance administration, grant and renewal by the insurer, its agents, reinsurers and intermediaries;
- to verify information which you provide, to conduct any necessary investigations and to prevent fraudulent claims;
- to enable insurers to conduct the searches on the relevant registers such as the Claims and Underwriting Exchange Register and the Theft Register;
- to add such information onto the relevant databases such as the Motor Insurance Database which may be used by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency and Driver and Vehicle Licensing Northern Ireland for the purpose of Electronic Vehicle Licensing or to pass such information to the police;
- to enable searches to be conducted on publicly available registers such as the Electoral Register, County Court Judgements and bankruptcy registers;
- to pass information about you to us (see “What do we do with the information we collect” above); and
- to enable credit reference agencies to conduct any relevant searches.
BISL may contact you by e-mail, phone, fax or mail for the above purposes.
What information does Allianz collect?

What does Allianz do with the information collected?
Allianz uses this information to provide you with a better service and for the following reasons:

If you do not want your information to be used for direct marketing purposes, please tick the appropriate boxes on the Quote and Buy Websites. If you request this option, no direct marketing material will be sent to you.

Email marketing
We, our subsidiaries, parent company and/or group companies would also like to provide you by email with information about products and services which we think you may find interesting from time to time. However, we appreciate that email spam has become a problem in recent years.
If the reason you have given us personal information is to receive email information from us, we will continue to provide this information by email unless you ask us not to do so.
Otherwise, on receipt of the personal information from BISL or Allianz we will ask you whether or not you are happy for us, our subsidiaries, parent company and/or group companies to send you this kind of information by email.

Who do we share this information with?
We or BISL or Allianz may transfer, disclose or distribute information about you to third parties, including insurers, the police, motor insurance databases, the Claims and Underwriting Exchange Register, the Theft Register and credit reference agencies, such as is required to administer and process your insurance claim or application.
We may also transfer, disclose or distribute information about you to our subsidiaries, parent company and/or group companies as described in the "Direct Marketing" and "Email marketing" sections above.

How to get copies of or amend the information we or BISL or Allianz have collected
For Car, Van and Home, for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998, we and BISL are the data controllers in respect of any personal data which you supply to us or BISL. For Pet, for the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998, we and Allianz are the data controllers in respect of any personal data which you supply to us or Allianz. You may request details of personal information which we or BISL or Allianz hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1998. A small fee will be payable. If you think any information we have about you is incorrect or incomplete, please write or email us as soon as possible at the above address. We will correct or update any information as soon as possible.
