Drivers who always take the time to search for cheap van insurance may find a new option from Fiat also makes financial sense.

The manufacturer has announced customers buying the 1.3 MultiJet SX diesel version of the Fiorino will soon be able to choose to have a Traction + package fitted.

It explained the technology is designed to provide extra control when motoring through snow or mud.

Gerry Clarke, director of Fiat Professional, claimed the option would be ideal on occasions when a 4x4 is not really necessary, but two-wheel drive is insufficient.

He also stated the package - which costs £750 - makes financial sense.

Mr Clarke explained: "Because fuel consumption and maintenance are not affected by Traction +, this new introduction represents not only a sensible decision for owners, but a cost-effective one too."

Buyers who opt to have the system fitted to their vehicle may find they can keep costs down by searching for cheap van insurance online.
