07 July 2009 Citroen Berlingo XTR+ 'may appeal to construction workers'
More construction businesses may end up taking out van insurance for Citroen models as a result of the latest addition to the manufacturer's line-up.The firm claimed its new Berlingo XTR+ is ideal for anyone in a job that requires them to go off-road.
As well as individuals in the building trade, the van may be well-suited to workers in the agricultural, utilities and forestry sectors, the company stated.
It explained the model has been designed to be able to operate on a variety of terrains.
However, the manufacturer added this does not mean owners will be forced to compromise when it comes to on-road performance.
It also said buyers should not be faced with higher running costs.
Commenting on the kind of people likely to purchase the model, Citroen spokesman Robert Handyside stated: "These customers require a reasonable degree of off-road capability from their light vans, which otherwise spend the majority of their working lives on-road."
Firms that do opt for the new vehicle may find they can keep running costs down by purchasing cheap van insurance online.
