02 July 2009 Car insurance customers might like safety features of new Fiat

The Fiat 500 C is out today Car insurance customers may benefit from the "comprehensive safety equipment" in the latest model from Fiat.

The 500 C goes on sale today (July 2nd) and is described as "stylish" by the manufacturer.

Safety features have been integrated into the soft-top like its predecessor, the 500, which was the first motor under four metres to be given a five-star rating from Ncap.

Seven airbags come as standard and there is an efficient and stable braking system that "allows it to emerge unscathed from emergency situations".

The 500 C also includes anti-lock braking, an electronic stability programme, hydraulic brake assistance and Hill Holder - a system designed to help drivers with hill starts.

Fiat added the car "also boasts modern and sophisticated components for preventive safety, especially when visibility is reduced".

News of the auto follows yesterday's announcement that Fiat had won a prize for its eco:Drive technology.

It was given the Grand Prix in the category of Interactive Tools at the Cannes Lions Awards.
