30 June 2009 Ford Ranger to be used as festival support vehicle

Ford Ranger Visitors to next weekend's Goodwood Festival of Speed may be inspired to take out van insurance for a Ford model after seeing it in action at the event.

The manufacturer has announced its Ranger pick-up will be used as a support vehicle at the show.

Christopher Salmon, motor sports event manager at Goodwood, said the model was ideal for this role because of its off-road agility, load space and towing capability.

He stated: "It really makes a difference to the event team to have the right support vehicle at the festival."

The Ranger has seating for up to five people and a 3,000 kg braked-trailer load capacity.

Visitors to the Festival of Speed will be among the first individuals in the UK to set eyes on the model.

It is due to arrive in showrooms across the country in September.

Meanwhile, motorists who do end up buying the vehicle may find they can purchase cheap van insurance online.
