16 June 2009 Ford unveils new version of Fiesta

Automatic Ford Fiesta Motorists looking to downsize in a bid to cut their car insurance bill may want to check out a new version of a Ford classic.

The automatic edition of the Fiesta is available in a choice of three trim levels – Zetec, Titanium and Style+.

Priced from £13,195 on the road, the vehicle will be the last addition to the UK range of this particular model, the manufacturer stated.

Product manager Chris Muers said there were compelling reasons behind the company's decision to introduce an automatic Fiesta.

He explained: "Typically, around ten per cent of small car buyers specify an auto option, so convenience technology is an important addition to a range that now offers an option for every taste."

The vehicle takes 13.9 seconds to accelerate from zero to 62 mph and boasts fuel economy of 43.4 mpg.

Meanwhile, motorists who downsize may well find they qualify for cheaper comprehensive car insurance – as smaller models are generally less expensive to repair and replace.
