15 June 2009 Mums may be impressed by new driving school

New driving school launched Mums who worry about their sons or daughters starting to drive and then being involved in an accident and having to make a car insurance claim may be impressed by a new training school.

The Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy has been established to try and keep youngsters safe on UK roads.

A series of courses offer participants guidance on basic vehicle control and how to deal with the various situations motorists encounter once they start taking their own autos on public highways.

Managing director Peter O'Halloran commented: "The Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy provides young people with the skills and thought-based experiences that go beyond the requirements of just passing the driving test."

The modules on offer include a pre-road course for 12 to 16-year-olds, provisional licence training for those with L-plates and post-test sessions for qualified motorists keen to improve their skills behind the wheel.

Meanwhile, mums who are looking for the best deal on their own comprehensive car insurance may find it relatively easy to secure a competitive price on cover, as females are generally considered to pose a lower risk than their male counterparts.
