11 June 2009 Highways Agency receives marketing accolade

Highways Agency campaign wins award A recent campaign - that may have reduced the number of drivers forced to rely on their breakdown cover - has received recognition at an awards ceremony.

The Highways Agency's Don't Be That Guy advert was awarded a gold accolade by the Institute of Sales Promotion (ISP).

Introduced in a bid to encourage motorists to prepare better for long journeys, the initiative advised people to equip their cars with emergency supplies, find out about traffic conditions and get vehicles serviced before road trips.

According to ISP, the campaign was insightful and humorous.

Gill Stevens from the winning organisation said she was delighted to receive the award.

"As a government agency, we always strive to make our customers' journeys safer and more reliable," she explained.

Motorists who like to ensure they have the best breakdown cover available just in case of an emergency may be able to find a good car insurance policy that includes roadside assistance online.
