The men were taken into custody after an auto was stolen from south Belfast in the early hours of Wednesday June 3rd.

Arrested in Cromwell Road and McClure Street, the men in the Vauxhall that had been taken hit a police car in Essex Street at 04:20 BST. At this point, the thieves made off on foot.

One of the men is a teenager and the other is in his twenties.

Police are also looking into an incident where a Ford Focus was taken.
