More British drivers may end up taking out van insurance policies for Citroen models as the result of a new range of offers from the firm.

The group announced it will be launching a variety of deals next month to both scrappage and non-scrappage scheme consumers.

Robert Handyside, commercial vehicle operations manager, predicted the bargains being introduced in June would prove tempting to buyers.

He pointed out the company was doing well despite the economic conditions and was keen to keep this up.

"With a new Citroen LCV available from just over £5,000, the benefits of fuel-efficient and lower-emission vans are more affordable than ever for business users," Mr Handyside claimed.

Scrappage scheme customers will be able to buy the Berlingo First for £5,145 next month, while the Nemo 610 1.4i 75hp X will be priced at £5,945.
