Van insurance policyholders looking for a new model might want to take a look at the 2009 Toyota Hiace.

According to the manufacturer, the vehicle has been updated for this year and now comes with air-conditioning as standard.

Other features drivers can look forward to include an Eclipse Black metallic paint choice, improved interior and new front grille.

There is extra sound-absorbing material that reduces noise inside the Hiace cabin and enhanced window glass to reduce the glare of ultraviolet rays.

Toyota said different customer needs could be satisfied by options such as long or short wheelbases, various maximum payloads and a choice of diesel engine output.

Prices start at £14,100.

Meanwhile, earlier this week saw the manufacturer announce the launch of a new type of material it was planning to use in its cars.

Ecological Plastic is used in parts of the new Prius and, according to Toyota, 20 per cent less carbon emissions than traditional plastic are linked to its lifecycle.
