Registration plate may appeal to horse racing fans Motorists who have made significant savings by securing a great deal on comprehensive car insurance may want to spend the extra cash on something for their vehicles.

DVLA Personalised Registrations pointed out a number of quirky private plates will be going under the hammer at an upcoming sale.

Scheduled to take place over three days at Wychwood Park in Crewe, the auction will give visitors the opportunity to bid on a variety of lots, including HOT 71P and N0T 600D.

Reserve prices for the items start from £350.

However, there are a couple of plates organisers are hoping will make more than a few hundred quid.

They revealed that after 1 O and 2 O generated £210,242 and £142,294 respectively, there are high hopes for 3 O.

Marketing manager Damian Lawson said: "We have been completely bowled over by some of the incredible sums paid for our registrations this year, especially in this current economic climate."

The sale is due to start on June 3rd.

Drivers who make any modifications to their vehicles may be well advised to let their comprehensivecar insurance provider know.
