Light commercial vehicle drivers who want to do their bit for the planet may be tempted to take out van insurance for a model from Volkswagen.The manufacturer claimed its new Crafter is one of the cleanest machines in its sector.
Buyers will find the Euro V BlueTDI range has received Enhanced Environmentally-friendly Vehicle certification.
This is because the line-up exceeds Euro V standards on fuel economy and carbon dioxide emissions.
In addition to this, Volkswagen claimed the range is also quieter and smoother than before.
Customers who register a Crafter Euro V model before 2011 will be entitled to cheaper road tax for the rest of the van's life - a reduction of £60 annually.
Simon Elliot from the manufacturer commented: "We're delighted to have improved fuel consumption and reduced running costs - and made it one of the most environmentally-friendly vehicles in its class."
People who purchase the model to cut their petrol bills may find they can reduce costs further by searching for cheap van insurance.
