08 May 2009 Ford 'could be a green choice'
Drivers who intend to buy a car from a manufacturer with good green credentials may want to consider visiting a Ford dealership. The company claimed models like its Fiesta ECOnetic are helping it minimise its impact on the environment.
With carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions of 98 g/km, the vehicle also boasts fuel consumption of 76.3 mpg.
According to Clean Green Cars, the manufacturer is leading the race when it comes to reducing the amount of CO2 its new models release.
Jay Nagley, publisher of the website, said: "New car carbon dioxide emissions are falling at an unprecedented rate and Ford is more than playing its part."
Meanwhile, motorists who opt for a small eco-friendly model like the Fiesta ECOnetic may find they make savings on more than just road tax and fuel.
Diminutive vehicles that are kind to the planet often qualify for relatively cheap comprehensive car insurance as they are generally considered a lower risk than more powerful autos.
