The number of people tempted to take out van insurance for Nissan vehicles may increase with the launch of a new model.

According to the manufacturer's senior vice-president, the NV200 may provide the perfect solution to businesses operating in towns and cities.

Simon Thomas claimed the van "is the smartest choice for entrepreneurs who use their vehicles in a busy urban environment".

The new model was unveiled this week at the Barcelona International Motor Show and will arrive in showrooms across Europe in October.

Buyers will be able to opt for a rear view parking camera to help them manoeuvre into tight spots and Nissan also claimed the cabin of the van offers lots of storage space.

In addition to this, there will be a choice of two engines - one diesel unit and another petrol version.
