More drivers may end up looking online for van insurance for a Vauxhall model after hearing the comments of one satisfied customer.

Amey - a rail infrastructure maintenance company - revealed it recently placed an order for Astravans and asked if at least 60 could be delivered in the space of just over a week.

Nicky Simpson, service director, admitted her firm had been asking quite a lot of Vauxhall but added she was pleased with the manufacturer's response.

"It was a Herculean task and one to which they responded magnificently, even beating the 60 target by one," she explained.

Amey said it chose the Astravan to help it fulfil a new contract with Network Rail because the model offers good carrying capacity, excellent fuel economy and robustness at a relatively low price.

Drivers who have recently shelled out for a new model of their own may find they can keep their running costs down by searching for cheap van insurance online.
