27 April 2009 Aston Martin 'achieves new level of design'
A concept car from Aston Martin has reached a higher level of design than ever, it has been claimed.The One-77 made its official debut this weekend at a ceremony in Italy, where it won the Concorso d'Eleganza design award for Concept Cars and Prototypes.
According to chief executive of the manufacturer Dr Ulrich Bez, the One-77 has reached a new peak of craftsmanship.
"To win this award at its first showing is a testament to the Aston Martin team and the original concept," added design director for the company Marek Reichman.
"Winning here today has proven One-77 as a benchmark in automotive design."
Another winner at the Italian show was a Ferrari 250 GT Coupe, which took home a prize for Best Restoration.
It was first exhibited in 1956 before competing in various races, later being renovated to overhaul everything including bodywork and running gear.
The car also came second in its class.
