24 April 2009 Latest Transit may tempt van buyers
Ford has announced it is to release an ECOnetic Transit van.More motorists may be convinced to take out van insurance for a Ford Transit after seeing the latest version of the model.
The ECOnetic edition of the light commercial vehicle (LCVs) is designed to help drivers reduce their carbon footprint.
Based on the front-wheel drive 280 panel Transit, the new van will offer fuel consumption of 39.2 mpg and carbon dioxide emissions of 189 g/km.
The model is due to be released in the autumn and an ECOnetic version of the Fiesta Van is also scheduled for release later this year.
Businesses who invest in these models may find the LCVs can help them cut costs - both at the pump and in terms of lower taxes.
Steve Kimber from Ford in Britain commented: "We appreciate that our commercial vehicle customers that have a clear interest in saving fuel and lowering their cost of ownership."
Firms may be able to reduce their outgoings further by searching online for cheap van insurance.
