03 April 2009 Mazda model may tempt female motorists

Mazda MX-5 More women drivers may be tempted to take out car insurance for Mazda models after seeing the latest addition to the company's line-up.

The revised MX-5 has enjoyed a make-over and now has more styling touches in common with other vehicles produced by the manufacturer - such as the TX-8 R3.

Buyers will be able to choose between a soft-top version of the car and a roadster coupe edition.

Meanwhile, female motorists may be impressed to hear Mazda has reduced the vehicle's carbon dioxide emissions, bringing them down from 174 g/km to 167 g/km on the 1.8 SE model.

Commenting on the 2009 range, sales and marketing director Mark Cameron said: "The latest exterior, interior and technical upgrades to the 2009 Mazda MX-5 range will ensure that the soft-top will continue to offer pure, fun-to-drive, open-top motoring thrills."

Women drivers may be able to secure a competitive insurance quote for the car as they are generally regarded as posing less of a risk behind the wheel than male motorists.
