03 April 2009 Daihatsu could help drivers downsize
Motorists keen to reduce the amount they are paying for comprehensive car insurance by downsizing may want to pay a visit to their local Daihatsu dealership.According to the manufacturer, the Sirion is one of the most frugal vehicles in its class.
It claimed the model is capable of travelling 165 miles on £10 of fuel and could also save owners money on road tax - because its low CO2 emissions mean it falls within the £35-a-year band.
In addition, the company praised the vehicle's performance, pointing out it boasts a top speed of 99.4 mph and can go from zero to 60 mph in 13.5 seconds.
Paul Hegarty, Daihatsu's operations director, said: "It's the car all families and businesses should be looking at, offering class-leading economy, performance and emissions."
Motorists downsizing may also find the cost of their comprehensive car insurance premiums are reduced as a result of the Sirion's 1.0-litre engine.
