Fait 500 C The number of women drivers planning to take out car insurance for the new convertible Fiat 500 may increase when they hear about prices for the model.

Due to be released in the summer, buyers will be looking at shelling out between £11,300 and £14,100.

Fiat said it expects the vehicle to prove popular as it is significantly cheaper than many of its rivals.

Motorists will be able to choose between 11 bodywork shades, including the brand new colours of Tech House Grey and RaggaMuffin Red.

Standard equipment on all models includes air conditioning, an electrically-operated hood, remote central locking, seven airbags, electric door mirrors and a radio, CD and MP3 player.

Marketing director Elena Bernardelli commented: "The sophisticated new 500 C is a faithful yet thoroughly modern take on the rich heritage of our sought-after 500, which highlights its strong, attractive personality."

It may be possible to secure cheap female car insurance for the model, as women drivers are generally regarded as posing a lower risk than their male counterparts.
