20 March 2009 RMIF advice may be useful to third party insurance holders

RMIF: Motorists need to wash away the dirt built up over winter Drivers with third party insurance who realise any problems with their car could prove costly may want to follow advice from the Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMIF).

The group said it is a good idea for vehicle owners to take advantage of the current warm weather by giving their auto a spring clean.

It stated dirt can build up unnoticed during winter and it is important for motorists to remedy this if they want to avoid future problems.

The organisation explained grime could be hiding chips and scratches and these need to be dealt with as soon as possible so they do not develop into something more serious.

RMIF director Sue Robinson said some problems may require professional help.

She advised: "When having a service or any form of work carried out on your car use a reputable garage - be it the dealer who sold you the car or a local independent garage."

Vehicle owners who make the effort to keep their motor in tip-top condition may find it easier to avoid accidents and protect their cheap third party insurance premiums.
