18 March 2009 Motorists may want to treat themselves at upcoming sale
People who have recently taken out comprehensive insurance for a prestige car may be tempted to attend an upcoming sale where they will be able to treat themselves to private plates. However, DVLA Personalised Registrations pointed out some of the items going under the hammer at the auction at Ardencote Manor Hotel in Warwickshire may not be cheap.
It explained plates like 1 D and 2 O are highly sought after and likely to create a bidding war between top investors from the city and A-list celebrities.
DVLA Personalised Registrations' marketing manager Damian Lawson commented: "From the level of interest already surrounding 1 D and 2 O, I am confident we could have some further additions to our top ten league table of sales."
Motorists who are keen to try their luck at the auction will need to clear their diaries from March 25th to 27th.
Vehicle owners who make any changes to their cars might want to let their comprehensive insurance provider know or they may end up invalidating their policy.
