Car insurance customers keen to improve their green credentials may want to follow the example set by Jodie Kidd.

The supermodel - a former contestant on Strictly Come Dancing - recently became the first UK motorist to take Fiat's new eco test drive, which is a programme designed to help people reduce their carbon footprint.

As well as getting to try out a car, people who take part in the initiative also have their style behind the wheel analysed and are then offered advice on how they can cut fuel consumption.

Fiat are able to do this by using their eco:Drive technology, which is currently compatible with the 500, Grande Punto and Bravo models.

At the moment, the initiative is being trialled in ten dealerships in the London area.

If it proves successful it will be extended to include the rest of the country.

Jodie stated: "People should be thinking more about their driving and the environment - it's a great idea."
