Recent figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders revealed new car registrations fell by 21.9 per cent last month, compared with the previous February.

Richard Headland, the publication's editor, said: "March isn't usually the time to get a great new car deal, but this year everything's up for grabs."
