03 March 2009 'Help is available for older car insurance customers'
There is help at hand for older people who cannot seem to find suitable comprehensive car insurance, it has been claimed. The British Insurance Brokers' Association (Biba) issued this statement in light of a new report from the Association of British Insurers called Age and Insurance: Helping older customers find the cover they need.
It stated a number of more mature people do struggle to find the policies they require, adding this was demonstrated by the number of calls to its consumer helpline.
However, it added anyone who does contact Biba will be put in touch with an insurance broker who can arrange the best possible cover.
Graeme Trudgill, technical and corporate affairs executive, said: "The important thing is to make sure that consumers have protection and do not risk being uninsured."
Older drivers may find they qualify for relatively cheap car insurance, as they are generally considered to be a lower risk.
