03 March 2009 Charity auction may tempt third party insurance customers

Kia has donated 20 cars to Red Nose Day auction People who have been toying with the idea of purchasing a used car so they can opt for third party insurance may find an upcoming charity auction presents them with the perfect opportunity to do just that.

Kia and British Car Auctions have come together to organise a Comic Relief sale.

Some 20 second-hand motors are due to go under the hammer and - with no reserve prices set - they could go for anything from £10 to £10,000.

Kia has donated the cars and given each of them a makeover.

Buyers should also find every model has an MOT of at least six months.

The event is scheduled to get underway at 10:00 GMT at Measham auction centre and all money raised will go to charity.

Craig Purvey, BCA national account manager, said: "Kia and BCA have worked closely together to stage this sale and we hope to attract a massive crowd of buyers on the day."

Meanwhile, one second-hand vehicle owner who would probably opt for comprehensive car insurance is the person who last month bid for a Ferrari previously owned by England footballer Joe Cole.
