09 February 2009 Fiat 500 may tempt female car insurance customers
Female car insurance holders looking for a small fuel-efficient car may want to consider a new addition to the Fiat 500 line-up.The manufacturer has announced buyers can now opt for a model fitted with Start&Stop technology.
It explained the system means the vehicle automatically cuts the engine when at a standstill in traffic and restarts it when the congestion clears.
According to the company, the innovation should allow drivers of a 1.2-litre engine edition of the car to make fuel savings of up to 12 per cent, compared with the original version.
In addition to this, environmentally-friendly women drivers may be impressed to hear the same model boasts CO2 emissions of 113 g/km.
Fiat's managing director Andrew Humberstone said: "This is an important development for the 500 as it will help to make what is already a fuel-efficient, value-for-money car an even greater consideration for town and city drivers."
Women motorists downsizing from a larger vehicle may also find the new Fiat 500 qualifies for cheaper car insurance than their current model.
