04 February 2009 Rubbers may be a good idea for third party insurance holders

Motorists urged to protect their suspension Motorists who know their third party insurance will not cover accidental damage to their suspension may be well-advised to take on board recent advice.

Car Parts Direct has urged drivers to undertake a simple DIY task which can help protect vehicles.

It stated an increasing number of car owners were experiencing problems with their suspension as a result of the growing use of speed bumps.

The company suggested drivers consider adding rubbers to suspension coil springs.

It claimed most people would be able to complete the job in about 20 minutes at a cost of approximately £35.

For vehicle owners who do not know where to start, Car Parts Direct has released a demonstration video on its website.

Spokesperson Mark Cornwall said adding rubbers is a good idea as "it appears speed bumps are here to stay".

In other news, Car Parts Direct recently warned motorists that if their vehicles are not roadworthy their insurance may be invalidated.
