27 January 2009 Seat says Ibiza Ecomotive has "exceptional fuel economy"
The Ibiza Ecomotive car currently part of Seat's line-up provides "exceptional fuel economy", it was said today.
As the 1,000th unit was sold, the Spanish manufacturer took some time out to explain why it remains popular among car insurance customers at the moment.
In addition to helping motorists lower their carbon emissions - output is 99 g/km - it can also maximise economy due to its fuel consumption level of 88.3 mpg.
Not only can this mean less need to buy fuel so frequently, but it places the Ibiza Ecomotive in a road tax-exempt band.
The driver at the wheel of the 1,000th model is Nigel Morgan, who is 55 and from North Yorkshire.
He said he chose the vehicle because "it made the most financial sense".
"I also liked the fact that it's a quite a sporty car for something so green and economical," Mr Morgan added.
Other Seats car insurance policyholders might want to check out include the Aygo and Prius.
