20 January 2009 Men called James 'may have to dig deep for car insurance'
A new study has revealed the drivers who may be the most likely to end up paying more for their car insurance.Research by Confused.com found men named James were the most reckless behind the wheel, with 31 per cent admitting to motoring convictions.
Men called Daniel were revealed to be the second most dangerous drivers on the road.
Some 18 per cent of these motorists admitted they had been on the wrong side of the traffic police.
Women called Lucy were found to be the most likely females to have driving convictions, with six per cent falling foul of the law.
Confused.com pointed out people who fail to keep their licences clean could lose access to cheap car insurance.
Spokesman Will Thomas said: "On average, a driver with three points will see premiums leap seven per cent, rising to 25 per cent for six points and 50 per cent for nine points."
Meanwhile, Confused.com recently advised motorists to prepare for cold weather by making sure batteries are well-charged before long journeys.
