Drivers looking to buy a vehicle that qualifies for cheap car insurance may be tempted by Citroen's latest model.

According to the manufacturer, the C1 Splash can help motorists save money in a number of areas.

It described the special edition model as "the ideal city car to cruise through the credit crunch".

Eligible for group one motor insurance, the vehicle may also help motorists save money at the pump as it boasts fuel economy of 62.8 mpg.

In addition to this, owners may find the model allows them to reduce their road tax bill as it offers CO2 emissions of 106 g/km.

In terms of features, the car includes air conditioning, electric front windows and remote central locking.

Available in three and five-door editions, buyers can also choose between two colours - Lipizan White and Electra Blue.

Prices for the C1 Splash start at £7,345.
