Van insurance customers considering updating their current vehicle this month may be tempted to take advantage of a Renault deal.

The manufacturer has announced it is launching National Van Week on Friday January 16th, which will include money-saving offers on a number of its models.

However, it revealed it has decided to make the deals available until January 31st rather than the original seven days planned.

Renault explained the extension would allow more cash-strapped drivers to take advantage of the offers in a difficult economic climate.

Buyers of vans from the manufacturer's new range will be allowed to choose one of three incentives - 12 months road tax, a portable TomTom ONE satellite navigation system or an air conditioning pack.

Earlier this month, Renault announced its sales results for Europe in 2008.

The manufacturer reported it had increased its market share by 0.2 per cent, despite the tricky trading conditions.
