14 January 2009 Daihatsu could help car insurance customers cut costs
Motorists keen to cut their spending on car insurance, fuel and road tax could benefit from downsizing to a Daihatsu, it has been claimed. With the recession tightening its grip on the UK, there has never been a better time to opt for a small vehicle, the manufacturer said.
It stated it provides a number of models which might fit the bill, including the 1.0-litre Sirion which is capable of 56.5 mpg.
The fact the vehicle has a small engine also means buyers may find they qualify for cheap car insurance.
Commenting on its range of motors, the manufacturer said: "The dynamic Daihatsu blend of great value for money, excellent fuel economy, low emissions, small road fund licences and proven reliability make a popular choice."
It added the fact it made it into the top ten performing carmakers in the UK in 2008 suggests it is providing the right vehicles at the right time.
Car insurance customers keen to downsize but not down-spec may want to take a look at the luxury version of the Sirion which was launched last year.
