14 January 2009 Fiat offers cubic family runabout
Car insurance customers with families may be tempted by the details of a new model from Fiat which were released this week. The Italian manufacturer's new Qubo, which uses the base of Fiat's Grande Punto model, aims to provide versatility and performance, while still offering the space and driving experience consumers want from a car of its size.
It is claimed the Qubo is "as easy to manoeuvre as a supermini" while remaining as "spacious and comfortable as an MPV", something which the automaker puts down to its innovative cubic design.
Prices for the new model will start at £9,750 when the vehicle goes on sale later this month and the top-end model will be available for £12,350.
Engine options will include a 1.3-litre MultiJet turbodiesel, a 1.4-litre petrol and the choice of an Active and Dynamic trim will provide car insurance customers with "a generous amount of standard-fit equipment".
Last year, Fiat announced the number of Grande Puntos to roll off its production line in Melfi, Italy, had reached three million.
