Female motorists who prioritise safety when buying a new vehicle may find Land Rover can reduce their chances of having to make a car insurance claim as a result of accidents caused by rain and ice.

According to the manufacturer, its range of models is well-equipped to deal with poor weather conditions.

It claimed features such as four-wheel drive, terrain response and hill descent control can provide drivers with valuable peace of mind and help deliver them safely to their destinations.

The company is also encouraging owners to take advantage of the complimentary seasonal tests it is currently providing.

Managing director John Edwards explained: "Poor driving conditions should be taken very seriously, so we are offering free winter health checks for all Land Rover customers."

In other news from the manufacturer, it recently announced it was cancelling its G4 Challenge programme to allow it to concentrate on its new product launches for 2009.
