08 January 2009 New text service could help out car insurance customers

New service can help motorists avoid jams Car insurance customers who have had a near-miss while rushing to get to work on time may be interested in a new service being offered by Trafficmaster.

Route Guard alerts motorists to any road problems on journeys they make on a regular basis, by sending text messages with details of delays to their mobile phones.

Tim Owen from Trafficmaster said the product may prove useful to people who are constantly running late and are desperate to turn over a new leaf.

"Using the Route Guard service is an effective way to manage your time better and help get you to work and meetings on time," he claimed.

Each text costs 25p and subscribers can use it for up to four different journeys.

It is also possible to amend or cancel the service at any time.

Meanwhile, Trafficmaster picked up three honours at the Milton Keynes and North Bucks Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards last autumn.
