Van insurance customers looking to replace their current model with a good-value all-rounder are being urged to consider Citroen's latest model.

According to the manufacturer, the Dispatch 1200 XTR+ enhanced traction van offers excellent on and off-road performance.

In addition to this, it stated the vehicle did not have the operational limitations and increased costs typically associated with a 4x4 van.

Anyone interested in the model can purchase an entry-level version for £17,445 plus VAT.

Richard Handyside, Citroen's commercial vehicles operations manager, said he was confident the new addition would be a hit with customers.

He explained the model offers more payload capability than a lot of 4x4s and also provides greater load security and three-way load accessibility.

Mr Handyside concluded: "The new Dispatch 1200 XTR+ van significantly expands the appeal of this versatile International Van of the Year 2008 range."

Last month, Citroen claimed 2008 had been its best year ever in terms of independent awards for its light commercial vehicles.
