Scottish motorists who do not want to jeopardise their cheap car insurance premiums are being reminded not to drink-drive this Christmas.Tayside police have recruited the help of Tesco stores in Angus to assist them in their quest to cut road accidents in the area.
Bottle-neck collars have been placed on alcoholic drinks in supermarkets in Angus, warning drivers about the dangers of getting behind the wheel after drinking.
Particular emphasis is being placed on the fact that people may still be over the limit the morning after a night out.
Chief Superintendent Alan Campbell said: "It takes a substantial amount of time for the body to process and dispose of alcohol and there is no way of speeding up this process."
He advised people to give themselves plenty of time to recover after consuming alcohol.
Motorists who are caught drink-driving could face a ban, a fine and even a prison sentence.
