15 December 2008 Research could cut van insurance claims
Employers keen to reduce work-related road accidents and van insurance claims are being invited to take part in research into the safety of young people who drive for a living. The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (Rospa) announced it was still looking for bosses whose workforces consist of drivers aged between 17 and 24 years old.
It said its online survey had been completed by hundreds of companies, but added the views of more managers were being sought.
The questionnaire bosses are being asked to fill in will be available on Rospa's website until the end of 2008.
Duncan Vernon, road safety manager with the organisation, stated: "Most employers are identifying reasons why they feel the learner test does or does not adequately prepare young people for at-work driving."
In other news, Rospa recently claimed people were still being killed on the UK's roads as a result of motorists using hand-held mobile phones.
