11 December 2008 Car insurance may not be the only thing motorists buy online
People may soon be as comfortable buying their vehicles online as they are purchasing their car insurance on the internet, it has been claimed.Research from used car retailer Autoquake showed 76 per cent of drivers are more comfortable with the idea of turning to websites to find their next motor than a year ago.
The survey also revealed 81 per cent of those questioned thought they would save money by buying online.
Autoquake put the change in motorists' attitudes down to the slowing economy.
Chief marketing officer Fredrik Skantze explained: "We have seen more than a 260 per cent increase in website traffic from 85,000 to 222,000 unique visitors per month ... since the credit crunch started to take hold."
Earlier this year, Autoquke revealed it does not just offer your run-of-the-mill used cars when it announced it was to sell world champion boxer Chris Eubank's Hummer H2 to the highest bidder.
