Residents of a West Yorkshire town have been offered advice today which could help them avoid having to make a home insurance claim. The people of Shipley were visited by Fire and Rescue crews as part of a multi-agency day of action.
Called on to provide information on fire prevention, the emergency service's visit may see the number of home insurance claims in the area fall this winter.
The event was hosted by Airedale and north Bradford police and Bradford city council in a bid to target criminals, help people back into work and improve the appearance of the Bolton Woods area of Shipley.
One of the organisers, Acting Inspector Andy Croasdale said: "We are aware that the Bolton Woods area is one which needs support so we have put together this day of action to help residents in a number of ways."
Meanwhile, moneysupermarket.com recently revealed people living in Doncaster and Bristol are most likely to make a home insurance claim for theft or burglary.
