Travel insurance customers planning to head to warmer climes in the coming weeks may find Morocco is a good family destination, it has been claimed.

Orion Trek Voyages said the country has changed over recent times making it more suitable for holidaymakers with kids.

Spokeswoman Jane Folliott stated: "People are feeling a bit more confident about taking children to Morocco because it has developed a lot in terms of facilities."

Christmas was also highlighted as a popular time for visiting Morocco.

Ms Folliott suggested the country would suit people who did not want a "full-on" festive season, as it is largely Muslim.

However, she said people would not have to miss out entirely, adding it would be possible to find a turkey and enjoy a traditional British Christmas dinner there.
