A new version of the Peugeot 107 is said to be "stylish" and with a "more youthful appearance" than its predecessor.

Revealing some of the details of the upgraded car, the manufacturer said changes inside and outside would grace the 107, scheduled to go on sale next year.

Chrome detailing and a brand new wheel trim design will mean the exterior gets a makeover, while different upholstery materials in the interior will match a new range of paint colours.

In addition, Peugeot said the 107 will be more economical for car insurance customers and produce lower carbon emissions of 106g/km.

Its 1.0-litre petrol engine will also provide more miles to the gallon - 62.8mpg - which is a two per cent improvement on the current model.

Meanwhile, van insurance customers might like to know that last month saw Peugeot unveil a new Expert Window Van.

It introduced an extended roof option, increasing the vehicle's potential load volume to seven sq m.
