30 October 2008 Motorists 'could be in for a scare this Halloween'
Drivers with third party insurance who do not want to end up shelling out money for car repairs need to be particularly careful on the roads this Friday, the RAC Foundation has suggested.According to the motoring organisation, the last day of the working week is a bad time for traffic accidents anyway and - with Halloween trick or treaters likely to be out in force during the evening rush hour - it advised road users to be on their guard.
The group pointed out the colour of choice for many youngsters will undoubtedly be black.
It claimed: "This wardrobe choice makes trick or treaters a menace to spot on dark evenings."
The organisation added the last thing on the minds of most children would be the Green Cross Code.
Meanwhile, the RAC Foundation recently warned texting behind the wheel can be more dangerous than hitting the road while drunk or on drugs.
