Female car insurance customers who are considering buying a new vehicle may be interested to hear that Fiat has come up with a motor which may match your jeans.

The manufacturer has produced a limited edition 500 in collaboration with the fashion label Diesel.

Available in metallic green, brown and black, the car includes special features influenced by the design house's clothes.

Inside, the upholstery is made from a denim fabric and the side of the front seats have pouches which look like the fifth pocket on Diesel jeans.

Meanwhile, the 16-inch alloys feature the fashion label's logo.

A one-off version signed by the musicians who played at Diesel's 30th anniversary celebration - including producer Mark Ronson - is to be auctioned off for charity.

Spokeswoman for the carmaker Elena Bernardelli said: "The Fiat 500 is a perfect fit for Diesel and we are pleased to have this fantastic association with them."

In other news, the 1.3 MultiJet edition of the model was named ninth most fuel-efficient car by Which?.
