Motor insurance customers who are looking for a new sportscar may want to get themselves to down to their nearest Corvette showroom, after the car maker announced it is cutting the prices on a number of its models.

The manufacturer is shaving more than 11 per cent off the cost of purchasing its C6 and Z06.

Buyers can now pick up an entry-level C6 for £39,999 or a Z06 for upwards of £54,995.

Commenting on the price reductions, the manufacturer stated: "Corvettes have always offered an unbeatable combination of blistering performance, everyday comfort and driveability – and they are now better value than ever before."

Both sportscars offer top speeds of over 180 miles per hour.

Those interested in the C6 can opt for either a coupe or a convertible, while those who prefer the Z06 will benefit from the extensive use of technological advances used in race cars.

At this year's British International Motor Show, Corvette unveiled the ZR1 – its fastest ever model.
