22 September 2008 Forester offers 'SUV space and agile handling'
Car insurance customers thinking of purchasing a new vehicle could well be tempted by the Subaru Forester.The manufacturer notes that the vehicle offers SUV space along with agile handling.
Subaru explains the Forester is now closer in size to its competitors, 75 mm longer, 110 mm higher and 45 mm wider than its predecessor.
In addition, the is now 95 mm more rear legroom, the driver's eye-line is 30 mm higher and load space is now 450 litres with the rear seat up - an increase of 63 litres on the previous model.
An improved 2.0 litre petrol "boxer" engine, with horizontally-opposed cylinders, gives the vehicle a lower centre of gravity for enhanced grip, while a new multi-link suspension also provides smoother handling.
"Other premium touches include a gas strut-assisted bonnet, flowing fascia design, double-stitched seat cloth, metallic interior decoration and padded armrest cushions," Subaru states.
In recent months, the manufacturer debuted the saloon version of the Boxer Diesel Legacy at the British Motor Show.
