Drivers in Coventry have been offered a free tyre check as part of a national initiative, it has been reported.

The Coventry Telegraph has stated that the scheme has been set up both to help people save money and alleviate the pressure on the environment.

It may be that the Fill Up With Air Roadshow results in drivers being safer on the road, with their car insurance policies being protected as a result.

Coventry City Council road safety officer Maureen Johnson remarked that the initiative represents "a really great opportunity for people to have a free tyre safety check".

She added: "We welcome the initiative and hope Michelin holds a similar event in Coventry in the future."

This comes as the Birmingham Mail has reported that ten easy-to-follow tyre safety lessons have been made available to drivers by road charity TyreSafe on its website.
