29 August 2008 Jeep picks up 4x4 prizes
Jeep has been given a hat-trick of awards in a contest designed to celebrate the best 4x4 models on the market.The company came out on top in three areas - best budget 4x4, best mid-size 4x4 and best extreme 4x4 - with a total of 67 vehicles reviewed by 4x4 Magazine.
Among the winners were the Jeep Patriot, the Jeep Cherokee and the Jeep Wrangler, car insurance customers may be interested to know.
John Carroll, editor of 4x4 Magazine, remarked that the testing was "rigorous" and claimed that the brand has something to offer for everyone.
He said: "In a market swamped with new 4x4s, Jeep has retained its mastery in three key segments - Budget, Mid-size and Extreme - with the Patriot, Cherokee and Wrangler."
Meanwhile, a Jeep is to be used by Tintin fanatic Barrimore England-Davis, who is to emulate his hero by driving the car 5,000 miles to North Africa.
